No surprises here, most Okotokians list English as first language

Stats Canada released numbers last week on languages spoken in Canada.

Perhaps it should come as no surprise 92 per cent of Okotoks residents have a knowledge of English only.

Seven per cent have knowledge of both English and French.

Of the 30,210 people in Okotoks, 29,690 listed English as their first language while 400 listed French.

As for other languages spoken, 460 speak Tagalog, 235 Spanish, 185 German 125 Dutch and 40 Ukrainian.
