The news about a new roundabout going in the northwest of High River has one local giving it the thumbs up.

Colin Sutherland lives on High Country Drive right where the new planned roundabout will be installed next spring.

Sutherland says he's hopeful it'll slow drivers down because it's a dangerous spot for collisions.

"Well, it would be nice if it slowed down because, I used to park my work truck there in front of the house, and it got ran into twice. And then we got new neighbours here a couple years ago and before I could tell them they shouldn't park in front of our house it was too late."

You guessed it, his neighbour's vehicle was hit.

Sutherland would also like a speed trap set up.

The town has plans to put in a roundabout at High Country Drive and High View Gate in the spring of 2023.
