While provincial restrictions have eased, there are still some limitations and masking requirements to be aware of if heading to Calgary for Stampede week.

Guests on the Stampede grounds are encouraged to wear masks, but they aren't required.

The only ones that have to wear a mask are Stampede frontline volunteers and employees.

That being said, Stampede goers should keep in mind their commute to and from the grounds.

While the City of Calgary has repealed their mask bylaw as of July 5, masks are still required for city-owned and operated facilities and vehicles, including transit, taxis, ride share vehicles, and shuttles, as per Alberta's remaining restrictions.

The Stampede has reduced their overall capacity this year by about half of their busiest days in order to provide guests plenty of space if they're uncomfortable being closer to others.

Re-entry to the park is not allowed this year, so there will be no stamps issued at the gate.

For admission, online advanced purchasing is encouraged, and walk-up entries will be solely based on capacity.

They've also adopted a new virtual lineup process for attractions like the Dog Bowl, Nutrien Western Event Centre, Nashville North, The Big Four Roadhouse, and the Wine Garden.

To join the line, guests must scan the QR code outside and wait for a text notification that it's their turn to enter.

Enhanced cleaning and safety protocols are being followed to ensure a safe space for guests.

Nashville North is perhaps the most different, requiring pre-qualification for entry.

Attendees must show proof of vaccination, minimum one dose two weeks prior to entry date, or take a COVID test on site with a negative result.

Those wishing to attend are advised to pre-qualify early on in the day at locations conveniently placed inside each gate entry.

They will then be granted a wristband, which is only valid for that day.

To avoid standing in lines, QR codes are providing for scanning, with the entrance notification being sent via text.
