The Nanton Palominos rode back into town Friday night for game one of the Ranchland Senior Men's AA hockey league.

And they came away with a 5-4 win over the Siksika Buffaloes.

The Pals came out strong taking a 2-0 lead in the first period before the Buffaloes connected for their first goal and after 20 minutes it was 2-1 for the Pals.

It was 4-1 after two periods and then the Buffaloes started to tickle the twine notching two unanswered goals for a 4-3 score.

And then the Pals power play unit went to work notching the teams fifth goal for a 5-3 lead.

But the Buffaloes weren't going away easily scoring with just over two minutes left in the game.

The Pals were able to hang on for the game one win in the best-of-five round one series.

Game two is Sunday afternoon at 4:30 at the Tom Hornecker arena in Nanton and will be livestreamed.
