The Province has provided a grant to the towns of High River and Nanton for a water feasibility study.

High River mayor Craig Snodgrass says he and Nanton mayor Jennifer Handley and the towns CAO's recently got together to talk about water issues.

"Nanton is going to be requiring outside water sources for their future growth so Jennifer just wanted to get out ahead of it, we're not committing to anything, we want to do this study and that's what this grant is for is to do a water study between the town of High River and the town of Nanton to see how much resource is available for us to be able to someday, possibly, supply water to Nanton," said Snodgrass.

The $150,300 Alberta Community Partnership Program grant will provide them with information going forward on whether it would be feasible for High River to provide Nanton with water.

Mayor Snodgrass says this is still very early in the process.
