People lined the roadway along Veterans Way Wednesday evening (Aug. 18) to welcome a convoy of motorcycles on a mission.

Okotoks is just one of the stops on a coast-to-coast journey for the 2021 Rolling Barrage.

Their goal is to raise funds, enable therapeutic support, and generate awareness for those affected by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

One local veteran, Joe Ur, came out to show his support.

"I'm out today to support fellow riders. I spent 27 years in the army from 1984 to 2011 and got out. So I’m out supporting some of my friends that have started down East and riding here."

He came out with his dog Rodger to watch the procession.

"It means a lot because I've lost friends and I have friends experiencing difficulties and their ride is to gather money to put into programs to help soldiers and veterans recover from all kinds of illness."
