Most of Kananaskis Country is under a fire restriction because of the hot, dry conditions.

The Province issued a fire restriction for the Calgary Forest Area Tuesday morning.

The order by Alberta Forestry suspends all fire permits, requires all outdoor fires to be put out and prohibits wood campfires on public land -- particularly
in the backcountry.

Foothills County, Vulcan County, and the MD of Willow Creek are also under fire restrictions.

The Alberta Parks website shows Plateau Mountain Ecological Area in the Don Getty Wildland Area southwest of Nanton has a fire ban in place.

There are no active wildfires burning in the area now.
