Okotoks RCMP has released more information on the robbery at a rural residence on Tuesday.

37 year-old Armin Babic of Edmonton has been charged with robbery with a firearm, two counts of personation of a peace officer, two counts of forcible confinement, use of a firearm to commit an offence, pointing a firearm, and two counts of theft over $5,000, among others.

Babic has been remanded into custody until December 6 in Okotoks Provincial Court.

After police arrested Babic they recovered several items taken in the robbery, including "a large sum of US dollars, jewelry, and a firearm," according to an official release. They also recovered a firearm and a police-style vest.

“It’s a great outcome to be able recover the guns and to return belongings to the homeowner. As always, the RCMP is committed to the safety of rural Albertans," said Corporal Korey Crerar of the Okotoks RCMP.  

The Okotoks RCMP detachment will release more information this afternoon.
