A man injured in a collision near Okotoks passed away over the weekend.

A GoFundMe page was launched for 53-year-old Neil Madden days after he was injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 2 and 338 Ave on May 2.

Madden was airlifted from the scene via STARS air ambulance.

The fundraiser was launched to help Madden's family cover the costs of his medical care.

When the page was originally launched on May 6, Madden had undergone two reconstructive surgeries.

An update posted on May 12 confirmed Madden had passed away the morning prior. 

The page, dedicated to a "a father, brother, uncle, grandfather, friend and dear co-worker," has raised over $8,000 so far.
