The Erlton/Stampede C-Train station in south Calgary was the scene of a fatality from early this morning.

Calgary Police were called at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Friday, March 3, with reports or a serious-injury collision between a pedestrian and a C-Train.

Police say that it's believed the pedestrian was crossing the tracks at the southern crossing when it appears he slipped and fell.

He was then struck by an inbound train and died.

All crossing signs and lights were working properly at the time of the incident.

The death has been deemed non-criminal in nature however the investigation continues by the Calgary Police Traffic Section.

They are asking for the public's help if they witnessed the collision.
