Another Okotoks Oiler has been drafted into the NHL.

Rieger Lorenz was selected 56th overall in the second round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota Wild.

The 18-year-old forward had an impressive season with the Oilers, with 85 points (38 goals, 47 assists) across 60 games.

He was named the CJHL's Top Rookie for the 2021-2022 season and was the first Oiler to receive the title.

Lorenz is the tenth Oilers alum selected at the entry draft, joining the likes of Corban Knight, Jacob Bernard-Docker, and Dylan Holloway.

He's committed to the University of Denver for 2022-2023.
