The Highwood Mustangs are looking for some help with their coaching next fall.

Highwood High School is looking to the community for a little help with coaching some of their teams next fall.

The school's Athletic Director Curt Colfer says they need help in some specific areas.

"We're looking for a couple of volleyball coaches at the Junior Varsity, or grade nine level. The bigger role that we're looking to fill is for our Varsity Boys Basketball Coach. Our coach for the last decade or so is leaving to go to Foothills Composite. So that's a big hole that Jeromy Hall's leaving for we're looking for a Varsity Boys Basketball Coach to fill that role."

Colfer says sure, there's a time commitment, but in the end it's worth it.

"You know what? It's so true! Even the relationships you build with kids away from the classroom, or when you're in the gym or when you're on the road. It's a very different feel and it's a great spot. The kids really appreciate it. They love that interaction and that feeling, you become part of that program and it's a great thing to be involved with. There's no question that inter-school athletics is a wonderful thing."

He says some experience coaching and is already certified is great, but they're more than happy to take anyone who wants to step up and learn.
