The Town of High River will be planting trees around town starting this weekend.

It's part of the Southern Alberta Flood Response program to restore the trees that were lost during the flood of 2013.

The company 5 Star Trees LTD won the bid for the work and you'll see their trucks and workers planting 1,626 trees over the next several weeks.

A wide variety of trees will be planted ranging from poplar, spruce, pine to willow and others.

Some of the neighbourhoods include George Lane Park, Riverside Crescent, Tree Memorial Park, Sunshine Lake, Hamptons, Town Farm, Montrose Pond, Stang Park, Highwood Lake, CP Lands, Cemetery Lands, Mercer Lands, and Wallaceville.
