The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo in Northern Alberta is the place to be for the next couple of weeks as athletes head there for the Western Canada Summer Games.

Seven Foothills athletes will be taking part.

Daniel Donnelly and William Undershute from Okotoks will be joined by Turner Valley's Jacob Libbus in baseball.

Jordyn Bahr and Amanda Keegan from Okotoks will compete in artistic gymnastics.

And Turner Valley's Isaac Niles takes part in cycling.

The games get rolling Friday, August 7 and run through to Sunday, August 16.

In all 357 athletes from 57 communities in Alberta will go for gold at the games.
