A local boy is "squeezing" the day with his lemonade stand.

Tate Barton's mother passed away from cancer when he was 5-years-old and he started his lemonade stand as a way to raise funds in her memory.

Barton, now 11-years-old, says his stand exceeded his expectations that first year.

"We had a flood in 2013 and it had damaged our cancer clinic down in High River so I decided I wanted to raise $100 to help rebuild the cancer clinic," he explains. "So, I started doing it and people just saw it and after the first year it became $3,800 I raised."

Barton has become known in the High River community for his fundraising efforts and has become a staple at the Little Britches Parade.

He says there's big plans for the future of his stand.

"There's a few plans, so we want to maybe do one at the Car Show down in High River, and then we're working on contacting Pepsi and they're hopefully going to be able to get to 7/11 and we're going to create a Tate's 7/11 Slurpee Day."

As for the lemonade recipe, Barton says it's a family secret.
