A Foothills water skier was in Chile over the weekend and took home a gold medal.
Megan Pelkey competed in the 2022 IWWF U17 World Waterski Championships in Santiago, Chile from Jan. 5-8.
She competed in three disciplines: Slalom, Tricks, and Jump, with all three contributing to overall scores for competitors.
Pelkey placed 9th in Slalom, 11th in Jump, and 3rd in Tricks, earning her bronze in the category.
Being the only female competitor to qualify for the finals in all three disciplines, her combined overall score landed her the Girls Overall gold.
This is just Pelkey's latest gold medal, the latest since her last U17 Girls Overall gold medal win in Chile at the 2022 IWWF Pan American Water Ski Championships in November.
