Local public and separate school division officials recently got together.

Foothills School Division superintendent Chris Fuzessy says he and his Christ the Redeemer Catholic Division counterparts have lots to discuss.

"We want to talk about areas of common interest, for example talk about how they're working through increased costs in transportation and diesel costs and utility costs as we're all involved in the budget process as school divisions right now, understand how they're working through the insurance challenges that we're experiencing as a school division as I know all Albertans are experiencing those challenges," he says.

Fuzessy says they also talked out supporting the mental health challenges faced in schools and their work with AHS and the Calgary Primary Care Network.

He says it's a regular yearly gathering but a lot of the focus this year revolved around how each organization was meeting those challenges and where there is overlap where they can serve the community.
