A line-up of local rock pros will blow off the doors of the Elks Hall later this month in their latest show "LIVE and LOUD."
Showcasing The Lost Pawns, Kelsey Raine, The Rocky Mountain Maniacs and Stonegate, it's shaping up to be a loud night of music.
Fresh off the news of a YYC music nod, Kelsey Raine will have a set of her own as well as a few features with The Rocky Mountain Maniacs.
"The Maniacs and I actually met last year when we did this similar event at the Elks, but it was just three bands. They contacted me in March this year and said ‘Kels do you want to do a feature project?’
"I met with those guys and we clicked instantly. I literally love all three of them with my whole soul."
Stonegate will take to the stage at the night headliner bringing classic covers and features from their recent album drop "Set In Stone" to the stage.
"You know, it's gonna be a really cool fun show and you are supporting true local." - Kelsey Raine
Stonegate is made up of Marcus Steiner and Taylor McPhail on guitar and vocals, Robbie Bailey on guitar, Corey Mifflin on Bass and drummer Luke Thompson.
Having played with them before, Raine is excited to share the stage again.
"Corey and Taylor played on my very first original that I released and that one was nominated for an award. So it’s pretty cool 'cause we've been crossing paths for quite a while in our own little ways. Those guys are killing it as far as getting stuff out there and they’re really amazing."
Calgary-based The Lost Pawns will be bringing a set of original music and will open up the night.
Doors open at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug 27 with tickets available for pre-purchase.
"You're supporting guys that have been in this area forever. I grew up in Okotoks, I went to high school in High River. Luke, the drummer from Stonegate and I actually went to high school together. it's gonna be a really cool fun show and you are supporting true local."
