Over the weekend we got a bunch of entries for our Mother's Day contest!

Our first winner today was Tracie, and she was nominated by her daughter Leigh, who had a picture and some very nice words to share about her mom:

This photo was taken in 2014 only 2 months after my father had a stroke (which is why he was in a wheelchair in this photo, he has since begun walking again.) My mother these past two years has shown my brothers and I what true love and commitment really is. She has been an absolute rock for us and I will never be able to fully express to her the gratitude and amazement I have for her and how she has handled this challenge. After my fathers stroke my mother stayed with him almost 24/7 in the hospital and then went back to work to help support our family while also going to see him every night, not getting home until late to get some sleep before she had to wake up early in the morning to do it all over again. When he was moved from the hospital to rehab she never faltered and every night she would leave work straight to the fanning centre to see him. When he was moved to the Halver Johnson Brain Injury centre in Ponoka she drove up every weekend to bring him home no matter if she was sick or tired she went because he needed her. The love these two share is just wonderful to see and it is a shining example to us their children how two peoples love, strength and commitment can help you preserver through life's challenges. The way my mother has helped us all through this and never really getting time to herself since this whole ordeal began is why I think she deserves some pampering. My mother is the strongest woman I know and I hope I can have a tenth of her strength and love. Thank you for your time reading this essay and I hope you enjoy the picture and backstory!

Tracie was thrilled when we called her this morning.
