The Kinsmen Club of High River is ready to raffle off a Traeger Grill for Father's Day this year.

Working with local businesses they're able to offer up this opportunity to raise money for the community and give away a grill at the same time.

They kicked off the raffle with a BBQ at Sobeys on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Jason Clark, Treasurer of the club says it's not just the Traeger Grill that's part of the prize package.

"We worked with Furniture Villa locally to come up with the prize of the pellet smoker BBQ. It's an Ironwood 800 so we're selling tickets on that for 10 bucks.  It also includes a $500 gift card that was sponsored by Sobeys here in town. And then it comes with two bags of pellets and a utensil set."

With only 1000 tickets available to sell for the raffle your chances of winning are really good.

"The prize package is [worth] $2,800 and we're selling one thousand tickets. So, the draw date is June 12th, right before Father's Day so it makes a great Father's Day gift.

The weather was excellent for the BBQ too where they were offering up fresh, never frozen 6 oz. burgers for $5, oversized hot dogs for $3 and water for $1.  All the funds raised from the Saturday BBQ are going to the Salvation Army Food Bank.
