Environment Canada and the Northern Tornado Projects have confirmed it was in fact a tornado that touched down near Redcliff and Medicine Hat  last week.

The powerful storm caused devastation to several homes and other buildings.

Remarkably there were no injuries.

The thunderstorm moved through Cypress County July 18.

The tornado brought 190 km/h winds and the damage in the Redcliff area was due to a downburst with maximum wind speeds of 150 km/h.
