It's a honey of a deal

Honey wine has been added to the list of cottage wines available for sale in Alberta.

Cherie Andrews of Chinook Honey Farm near Okotoks is Chair of the Mead Committee with the Alberta Beekeepers Commission.

Andrews says the decision came quickly.

"It will take a little while for some of the honey producers to take advantage of it", she says, "but the door is open and that's the best part".

Andrews says Chinook Honey Farm hopes to have mead for sale by next spring.
