Thursday (June 24) is a huge day for the Sheep River Health Trust as it marks the annual Together We Make a Difference Radiothon.
The Eagle 100.9 hosts Logan Coutts and Shayne Hill, along with health trust members and supporters, are broadcasting live from the radio station's parking lot from 6 a.m. - 7 p.m. All proceeds will go towards fundraising for local health and wellness initiatives.
This is the eighth year for the event which is supporting six organizations this year, the Okotoks Public Library, Helping Families Handle Cancer, It Takes a Village, Rising Sun Long Term Care's patio refurbishment as well as two projects for Oilfields General Hospital - a portable ultrasound machine and funds for a Sharp Aquos Board.
Last year, the radiothon raised just over $43,000.
In total, about $400,000 has been raised.
