Last month, the Alberta government declared September 1st as Alberta Day – a day to commemorate Alberta’s entry to the Confederation on Sept. 1, 1905 and to celebrate the “province’s unique spirit, culture and heritage“.

Okotoks will be celebrating the day on Saturday, September 3 with a day full of activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Community Events Specialist for the town of Okotoks Connie Drake says it's a great way to say hello to the fall.

"If you're not going out camping or if you don't have other plans, then this might be a great way to get out in the beautiful sunshine and enjoy our beautiful weather in the last summer days."

She adds, "We've got a lot to be proud of as Albertans and this is a great opportunity for us to celebrate Alberta days and to really take pride in that heritage and culture."

Here's what's happening throughout Okotoks.
