The issue of homelessness has come to High River.

Local RCMP and the Town's Protective Services Team, along with Family and Community Support Services are responding to complaints about people living in the area north of the Centre Street bridge.

In a release, the Town says it's aware of people living along the river and are working to respond to the situation.

They're urging residents to stay away because the land is in private hands.

The town's also concerned about people that have a dog off leash outside designated dog parks.

Residents caught walking their dog without a leash could be fined up to $200.
