Hockey didn't escape unscathed when the Province announced new restrictions to get COVID under control.

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney says leagues that were operating before, need to shut down now.

"Just in the last couple of weeks we've seen outbreaks coming from amateur hockey games that have been played in the province. Again, this is not our preference. This is just the reality we're dealing with."

He says leagues can apply for an exemption from the Chief Medical Officer of Health, if they can show a well developed COVID safety plan.
