Barbara Anderson is one 'Remarkable Resident'.

Anderson was awarded one of only two annual awards across the country put on by Seasons Retirement Communities.

Not only did she win the award but was also given two months free rent as well as a $25,000 donation to her charity of choice.

The charity is near and dear to her heart, the High River Royal Canadian Legion, which she's been a member of for over 25 years.

Anderson grew up in Blackie and has filled her 92 years by helping others including working as a Registered Nurse at the High River Hospital for 25 years.

The two-time cancer survivor continues to give back by playing the piano for residents and also making quilts for cancer patients through Victoria's Quilts.

She celebrated on Wednesday, June 29 surrounded by family, friends and staff and handed the $25,000 cheque over to the High River Legion.

It's the tenth year the organization has been celebrating their residents.
