The Town of High River is celebrating Alberta Day this Friday with a free concert in George Lane Park.

Everything gets underway at 6:00 p.m. with singer-songwriter Ziggy Ryerson from Calgary hitting the stage, followed up by Okotoks' Brettyn Rose who many Country music fans know and then local favs Stone Pony will headline the day.

No need to cook supper either as food trucks will be on site but you'll need to bring lawn chairs, blankets or anything else you'd need to enjoy the free outdoor concert.

Alberta Day is held in recognition of the founding of Alberta as a province on Sept. 1, 1905.

It's been 118 years since the Province of Alberta was established and here's a link that provincial government put out on 118 fun facts about our province.
