This is the first year in the last three when New Year's Eve parties will be back in full swing.

Whether they're at a commercial venue or a private home, High River RCMP Constable Jill Kingdon-Mills has a wish for everyone.

"We just want to prevent, if at all possible, anybody being victimized in any way, whether that's by theft, whether that's by accidents, or gosh forbid injuries or death, we just don't want to see that," she says.

"If you are out celebrating and you have some drinks just make sure you've got a place to stay, a nice warm place to stay or you've got a ride home."

She and other members of the detachment and all area detachments will be out enforcing traffic safety rules this weekend in the lead-up to New Year's 2023.
