Okotoks homeowners got to show off their gardens on Saturday.

The Big Rock Garden Tour made its way through town judging every single detail in one's yard, while raising money for the Foothills County Hospice Society.

Taking home the top prize of best garden was the Mario Garden in Cimarron Estates.

Colleen Mario says she, along with her husband, have put in a lot of time to make their garden special.

"My husband and I started out in 2009 when we built the house," she says. "We started by putting in our big trees, then it was a year of planning, and it's evolved into this."

Of course, the silver lining for the tour was raising money for the hospice.

Competitor Rosemary Berness says the competition and the charity have a huge place in her heart.

"I had a friend die at the hospice about a year ago," she says. "It's now one of my favourite charities and I hope I can do everything possible to help them out."

The tour raised $1100 for the hospice.
