Attention theatre lovers and pantomime fanatics. Another Goodger-Pink Family Theatre production is set to open this weekend.

CSI: Cinderella's Story Investigated is the latest to come from the local troupe of actors.

The all-ages show is written by Southern Alberta playwright and author Jay Newman. It parodies the tv show CSI: Miami and twists it into the classic story of Cinderella.

Actor in the show Anne-Marie Cotton is excited to take on the role of Prince Charming in a format dear to her heart.

"Lots of audience interaction. You know, 'oh no it wasn't' 'Oh yes it was' and 'look out behind you.' It's so funny. Filled with puns and bad humor. All things I hold close."

She is fond of the tongue-in-cheek references to the source material.

"Imagine CSI: Miami and David Caruso with the red hair and sunglasses investigating what happened to Cinderellas shoe. Just overdramatic investigating."

The show is filled with moments that poke fun at the show including the famous and often parodied "sunglass removal" moment.
