A local Okotokian and her family is in need of help.

Last week, Courtney Taylor was in a terrible accident, leaving her in need of multiple surgeries on her long road to recovery.

According to the GoFundMe page created by Amanda Aasen, Courtney is a wife and mother of two young boys, who, unfortunately was unable to be home with her family for Christmas.

The GoFundMe page was created to help ease the burden, Aasen explained on the GoFundMe Page.

"A Meal train has already been started to provide meals for the husband, kids, and family staying with them to help, but we would love to be able to provide them with some funds to ease the financial burdens and to help with the cost of hospital parking, gas travelling to and from Calgary and Okotoks," Aasen wrote.

So far, Taylor has had multiple surgeries, which included removing the C7 vertebrae in her neck.

As of Thursday December 28th, they have received 109 donations, raising a total of $9,029 of their $10,000 goal.
