High River's Jason Glass picked up his first win of the WPCA season Monday at the Heritage Days Stampede in Strathmore.

It's the second year in a row Glass has won the event as he had to overtake Gary Gorst for the title on the final day of racing.

Glass says he can't take all the credit for the win.

"I always give my horses credit, they're beautiful and they love to run. My crew's been working very hard behind the scenes all summer. So, it's nice for them when you can get a victory. The workers feel very proud. And they deserve a lot of credit, they work very hard."

Fellow High River driver Jordie Fike had a rough four days finishing 30th.

Not much better for Okotoks Mark Sutherland who was 32nd.

The boys now race north to Dawson Creek as they'll starting running in the "Battle of the North" Wednesday.
