Okotoks strives toward sustainability, and Earth Day is a great day to focus on how to keep our environment clean, and sustainable and how to solve pollution issues. The town of Okotoks put together a day full of activities for families to take part in.

Residents were treated to a tour of the eco-center alongside free test rides of the town's electric bikes as well as an item swap.

The Eco Centre is the designated facility for disposing of your household hazardous waste, such as vehicle batteries, household chemicals, herbicides, insecticides, aerosols (both paint and non-paint), household paint (latex and oil-based), batteries (rechargeable and non-rechargeable), empty 1lb, 20lb, and 30lb propane bottles, as well as fluorescent tube lightbulbs and compact fluorescent lights.

Consider swapping next time you're ready to throw out clothes. The swap is open until 4 p.m. today(April 22). Bring something to exchange or take what you need and discover something new-to-you! Donations of clothing, outerwear, footwear, purses, backpacks, wallets, belts, gardening tools, and seeds are appreciated.
