High River's Light Up George Lane Park is almost ready to go.

Most of the lights and displays are already up but they just have to put on the finishing touches in time for next Friday, Dec. 3.

However, there might be a small snag with the Porch Parades.

The always popular 'light wands' that Servus Credit Union supplies and is delivered to the children along the porch parade routes with smart cars from Ward Tire might not make it here in time.

Ted Dawson says the potential snag is because of the supply chain.

"They're on the west coast and so we're trying to figure out how we're going to get them here in time for the parade with everything that they've been dealing with, unfortunately."

Regardless, if the light wands don't make it here in time for the porch parades, in lieu of the Santa Claus Parade, they will still go on.

"On the Friday evening (Dec. 3) we'll be doing the northwest part of High River, Saturday evening (Dec. 4), the southeast part and then on Sunday evening (Dec. 5) we'll be doing the southwest, central and Montrose area."

There's also going to be a special appearance of the Ghostbusters ambulance.

Of course, Santa Claus and his reindeer float will be bringing up the rear but Lightning McQueen and Mater will also be back this year along with the 1947 restored fire truck.

And there are also some new displays up at George Lane Park ready for the official Light Up on Dec. 3.
