The Okotoks Bisons, host club of the Alberta Hockey U21 Provincials, took the silver medal on Easter Sunday afternoon.

The Bisons headed into the game facing the Wainwright Bisons having just lost 5-4 in overtime to them on Saturday.

Both teams had a 3-1 record after round robin play.

It was Wainwright striking first in the gold medal game at the Centennial arena but it would take until just after the two-minute mark of the second period.

Okotoks knotted it up just over six minutes later on a goal from Adam Kirkpatrick with assists going to Jaevon Buschlen and Kegan Law.

It would be the only goal Okotoks would get as Wainwright added another goal before the end of the second and they would add another in the third period for a final score of 3-1 in favour of Wainwright.  Wainwright hosted the tournament last year and they didn't make it to the finals however this year they won the gold.

The Okotoks Bisons took home the bronze medal last year.

And in the bronze medal match earlier in the day it was the CBHA (Calgary Buffalo Hockey Association) Rangers winning 7-3 over the Sherwood Park Knights to claim the bronze.

All games were held at the Centennial arena from April 5-9.
