There were a record number of balloons this year at the 11th annual Heritage Inn International Balloon Festival in High River.

Not only were there 29 balloons filling the sky but there was also a record number of shapes with eight unique shapes lighting up smiles wherever they flew over the five-day festival from September 27th to October 1st.

Organizer Jamie Kinghorn was thrilled to have Belgium pilot Benoit Lambert here along with his two Star Wars shapes Darth Vader and Yoda.

Buster the dog was also back this year along with another canine, Bella. They were a selfie fan favourite for kids at the Balloon Glow on Friday night as they were paired up, side by side.

A new shape greets the High River skyline too, Dyno the dinosaur with another animal taking to the sky, Owlbert Eyenstein. Busby the Guardsman and Princess Nelly the Pink Elephant were back this year too.
