Foothills County's Fire Restriction has been downgraded to a Fire Advisory.

The county cites the "current conditions and upcoming weather forecast" for the change, though they'll be monitoring moisture levels throughout the county.

Fire Advisories allow for more kinds of fires than bans or restrictions, though the Foothills Fire Department and Foothills Country are asking residents to use caution.

The Foothills Fire Department also reminds residents that obtaining a fire permit is mandatory at all times.

Among the types of fires allowed under the advisory are gas or propane stoves/barbecues, fireworks (with proper licensing), safe residential fire pits and safe campfires in campgrounds, and torches or lanterns with an open flame.
