This weeks recipe comes from Stephanie and James Parkers new cook book,

Bring your family together with this awesome pasta. Bacon Carbonara! (this meal puts the carb in Carbonara.... lame joke I know haha) Easy to make and you can get the kids to do the dishes after you are done ;)

All you need are....

  • 4 potions of dry pasta
  • 6 slices of bacon
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon of Olive OIl
  • 3 Egg yokes
  • 25g Shaved Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tablesoons chopped Parsely
  • Salt and Pepper

Directions

Fill a large pot with water, add salt and bring to boil. Add pasta noodles when water comes to a boil and cook pasta el Dante (still has some bite) Cut bacon into small cubes or strips. Diced garlic finally. In a sauce pan, cook bacon over medium heat and allow to get brown and crispy. Remove bacon and let sit in a bowl on the side. Remove bacon grease from the pan. Using the same pan you use to cook the bacon, add all of oil and, with heat on medium, add garlic to pan. Cook garlic until it is golden brown. Remove from heat. Add the bacon and pasta into the pan. Mix thoroughly with the garlic. Add egg yolks and mix ingredients rapidly preventing the eggs from scrambling. Add parsley and season with salt and pepper.

And most of all enjoy

"One of the best ways to distract a kid who really wants to help is by letting them do the dishes. Filling the sink with water and scrubbing and spashing is a great way to have them feel like they are a part of it even if there are tasks they are not able to help with.
For us, the best part of cooking is being together"
