The Food Bank and Denny's teamed up for The Taste Of Okotoks and it was a great day with food and wonderful people.

In support of the Food Bank, everything that was sold by Denny's Okotoks was given back in the form of a cheque to the organization.

Denny's Okotoks has helped out the Food Bank with a cheque for $810 to go towards helping the less fortunate members of our society.

Sheila Hughes, with the Food Bank says, the Food Bank and Denny's is a great partnership and they are happy to help feed those in need.

"This is a cheque we received through a fundraiser we did with Denny's, it's the Taste Of Okotoks, so they were selling nacho's and little pancake puffs, it was really really wonderful. Everything that they sold was donated to the Food Bank" Sheila Hughes adds.

This is a busy time for most families getting ready to go back to school, the costs of buying supplies, clothes and school fees alone contribute to a huge expense for most families and the Food Bank knows that helping families with food can really have an impact.

"August is always the busiest month for us, even pretty close to Christmas... Christmas is a different kind of busy but with the cost of back to school items and just trying to think of putting lunches together and clothing, it's really hard on the families and we think that food is one of the most important school supplies there is, so as long as we can provide this healthy food for the families, that's our main goal".

Upcoming events will continue to help with these needs and the Food Bank is happy for all the support.

"We're looking forward to our upcoming October event for the grand slam breakfast, we'll be here pouring coffee and handing out menu's and just thanking the community that come in and support us".
