Hot weather conditions have prompted another Alberta county to impose restrictions on fires.

On Tuesday the County announced that they have moved to a Fire Restriction, which limits where fires are allowed in the area.

If any open fires require a permit and are currently burning, they must be extinguished fully, and all open burning permits are suspended.

On top of the suspended fire permits, the County is not allowing fireworks, torches, and lanterns with an open flame at this time.

Meanwhile, residential fire pits, campground campfires, gas or propane stoves, gas or propane or charcoal barbecues, chimineas, internal household fireplaces, wood pellet smokers, incinerators for farm and acreage use, and burning barrels are allowed.

This restriction will remain in effect until all of Foothills County has received a substantial change to weather conditions and they have received approval to lift it.

If the conditions change, a fire ban may be implemented at any time..
