Feeding the Foothills - a six-week long initiative to stock the shelves of the Okotoks Food Bank has finished wrapping up! Since Thursday, June 7, 2018, the Eagle Team has partnered with the Okotoks Food Bank every Thursday at participating grocery stores (including Sobeys, No Frills, Safeway, and Save-On-Foods) to encourage members of the community to donate to stock the shelves of the Okotoks Food Bank.

Altogether, by partnering with the grocery stores throughout Okotoks, Feeding the Foothills, running from June 7th to July 12th, the fundraiser gathered over 2 000 pounds of food and other necessary products (such body wash, baby diapers, and baby formula). Furthermore, with around $600.00 in monetary donations, the Okotoks Food Bank can now purchase perishable items such as eggs, dairy-items, and bread. Thank you to everyone who came out to support the community throughout these six weeks - you've made an incredibly positive impact on the Okotoks community as a whole!

One of the partners of the Okotoks Food Bank and The Eagle 100.9 includes Okotoks GM who throughout the summer participated in their own independent initiatives to raise funds for those in need in the Foothills. Since the beginning of June, the car dealership has committed to donating $100.00 to the Okotoks Food Bank with every vehicle purchased. Their goal was to raise $10 000.00 and they have managed to reach their goal throughout these past couple months. You can see the GM Sales Team pictured above, smiling proudly next to their Goal Meter! Eric James, the sales manager at the dealership, tells me the initiative was great to do all month long and was a meaningful way to give back to the community! Congratulations to the whole team for attaining such an impressive goal!

What an incredible year for everyone involved! Thank you to the sponsors for Feeding the Foothills: The STASH Luxury Garages, OK Tire Okotoks, and Okotoks GM - thank you for everything that you make possible and all the good that you do for the Foothills community!

Be sure to check out the images below of Dave Elder from the Eagle Team hanging out at Sobeys in Okotoks, promoting the wonderful cause! The beautiful GMC truck was also on location with the Eagle Team throughout our time with the Food Bank; donated by Okotoks GM, the truck accompanied us from location to location for the past six weeks! It was a sweet ride!
