It was the rebuilding Tier IV team against a powerhouse Tier II squad with fairly predictable results Thursday night in high school football.

The Foothills Composite Falcons defeated High River's Highwood Mustangs 45-0 in Okotoks.

Falcons coach Darren Olson says it gave his young players a chance to see some action.

"Well I think it was good for our young guys, no doubt about that, it gave them an opportunity to play," Olson says. "You know, we just have more depth than they do down at Highwood unfortunately and I know that those guys are working hard."

Olson says it's back to work now as they head down the homestretch towards the playoffs.

"We certainly have to have a better week of practice than we did this week, there's a couple of things we put in that didn't go the way we wanted them to tonight and I think we really have to focus for next week against Rundle, that's going to be a first place game for the Big Rock Conference," he says.
