A big 57-7 win for the Foothills Falcons Friday, October 28, in the Big Rock Football League Final over the Holy Trinity Academy Knights.

The win erases last season's loss to Rundle College, which Coach Darren Olson says was a big motivator for the Falcons.

"We had a really good week of practice and the guys were really motivated, they were focused and I knew that we were going to be ready and I mean you never expect that big a score right? But, I knew that our guys were ready and I knew that HTA were going to have to have their best game to beat us."

They move on to play the Springbank Phoenix Saturday, November 5, in Springbank in round one of the Tier II Provincial Playoffs.

Meanwhile in Calgary, the Highwood Mustangs played their best game of the season losing 34-14 to the Rundle College Cobras in the Big Rock Consolation Game.

Coach Brian Brandford says he was proud of his team in the loss.

"Our opening drive we scored. We were up 6-0. Then we forced them to kick, we kicked back, then we had a couple of "brain farts" on defence, and they scored three consecutive series on us. But as the game went on we got stronger and scored a touchdown in the second half. I'm happy with the way our guys played today considering."

The Mustangs host the Drumheller Titans Saturday, November 5 at 1 o'clock in the Provincial Tier IV Qualifier.
