Okotoks and Calgary will feature Football this weekend, highlighting the talent from Okotoks past and present.

On Friday evening at 5:30 at McMahon Stadium, the U of C Dinos will battle their provincial counterparts, The University of Alberta Golden Bears.

The  2nd year Head Coach of The Bears is a Foothills comp Falcon Grad, and Okotoks native, Jeff Stead.

As a native of Okotoks, Coach Stead keeps his eye on the 2 High School teams,  hoping to score some recruits.

Stead's Bears are a young, and steadily developing bunch, and there is little doubt that the nationally ranked Dinos, will be a stiff test,  as well as a measuring stick for the Bears.

Meanwhile back in Okotoks, the # 10 ranked, division 2, Foothills Falcons will face the powerhouse, division 1, Harry Ainley Titans, from Edmonton.

This is sure to be a smash mouth affair,  and Falcons Head Coach Greg McLeod wants to measure his team's progress and give them something to shoot for in 2012.

Finally on Saturday morning at 11 am, the Holy Trinity Academy Knights will host Komalka Secondary High School from Vernon BC in a friendly exhibition, with a bit of a twist.

Komalka Secondary, as is the case with many BC high Schools, plays American 4 down football rules.

They will be playing regular Canadian 3 down football rules in this tilt,  and this change could prove to create some interesting moments, in terms of timing , and kicking rule differences.
