The Okotoks Dawgs closed out the 2015 WMBL season with a bang Friday night... knocking off the number one team in the league 13-4 in Lethbridge.

Right fielder Dane Tofteland lead the way with three RBI's in the win, while Brandon Stennis picked up the win on the mound.

DH Thomas Rodrigues returned to the Dawgs line-up this week after missing the majority of the season with a knee injury.

He picked up an RBI in the win and says they wanted to show Lethbridge that they're a force to be recognized with come the post season.

""We wanted to send a message," he says. "I think those first six games against Lethbridge we were not the same team, we didn't do it last night, so we wanted to do it tonight and say we're here to win."

The Former WMBL batting champ, says being out of the line-up most of the season and then coming in on pinch hits or being DH has been something he's working on since being injured and was relieved to contribute to the offense.

"My heart was beating through my chest," he says. "But it was definitely a relief to get that in, and hopefully I'll get some at bats in the playoffs, but whoever BT (Brett Thomas) wants to put in, I'll support it."

The playoffs begin Sunday night for the Dawgs at Seaman Stadium against Medicine Hat. First pitch is 7:05.
