The Dawgs would have a hard-fought game with the Medicine Hat Mavericks Sunday afternoon at Seaman Stadium but were unable to take advantage of runners in scoring position as they were defeated 4-2.

The Dawgs pitching would strike out 6 Mavericks batters while the Dawgs bats would record 9 hits in the loss.

The Dawgs move to 33-11 on the season and sit atop the WCBL standings.

Trent Lenihan (UBC) found his way on base going 2 for 3 at the plate. Titus Dumitru (New Mexico State, NM) would go 1 for 3 with 1 RBI. Logan Grants (Bellevue University, NE) hitting streak would come to an end, but he was able to record 1RBI in the loss. Ryan McFarland (Campbellsville University, KY) took the mound for the Dawgs going 5 innings allowing 2 runs on 2 hits.

The Dawgs bullpen would utilize 4 relievers and would only allow 2 hits to the Mavericks.

The Dawgs are back in action Monday, July 24 as they travel to Sylvan Lake for a makeup game with the Gulls.

The Dawgs return to Seaman Stadium Tuesday, July 25 for a crucial series with the Sylvan Lake Gulls.

Game one set for 7:05 p.m. at Seaman Stadium on Wednesday, July 25th.
