The Okotoks Dawgs will take another crack at taking down the Medicine Hat Mavericks in game four of their first round WMBL playoff series Wednesday Night.

After the Maverick bats hit two grand slams Tuesday night in their 11-6 win, The Dawgs will turn to Jean Acevedo to finish the job in game four.

Dawgs Manager Brett Thomas says all his club can do is shake off game three, and get right back it Wednesday night.

"As much as the story is the two grand slams, the reality is we walked a bunch of those guys on base," he says. "If we can just compete in the strike zone, our offense is going to do enough to out hit them, we just gotta make sure we compete and make them do it."

Thomas says all the Dawgs need to do is remember what the team did in their first two games of the series.

"Just talk about playing the game for nine innings," he says. "These guys have from an offensive stand point have done a phenomenal job, we're really fortunate the middle of our line-up has been outstanding, with (Brian) Sisler and (Brendan) Hendriks bot being awesome, it's just a matter of putting it together offensively and then just filling up the strike zone on the pitching side of things."

If by chance the Dawgs need a game five back at home Thursday night, Dylan Nelson is slated to make is second start of the series, but Thomas says in Wednesday's road situation, if needed, Nelson could see some innings.

"That would be the likely choice," he says. "You know if we need Dylan tonight (Wednesday) to win this game we're going to use him."

The Dawgs lead the best of five 2-1.
