The Okotoks Dawgs' four game winning streak came to a screeching halt last night falling to the Weyburn Beavers 11-3

The loss puts Okotoks' record at 15-11 heading into tonight's five game home stand finale against Edmonton, a team chasing the Dawgs in the WMBL Alberta Division standings.

Dawgs third basemen Brendan Hendriks says it's just one of those games last night.

"The breaks went in their favour today," he says. "It seemed everything was falling for them, we didn't swing as well as we liked to, we'll keep rolling, we'll use this as a reminder that we need to stay sharp."

The Dawgs mustered only eight hits on the Beavers pitching staff which Hendriks says is a shot in the arm for tonight's match-up against Edmonton who are just a half game back of the Dawgs for 2nd in the Alberta division.

"We'll take that game, hopefully win that," he says. "Have a day off Sunday and hit the road strong, going down the stretch I think things are looking good for us."

Before first pitch last night, the Dawgs picked up former Lethbridge Bulls Pitcher Alex Regan after he was released from Lethbridge that same day and he made the start. It was a rough one for the pitcher who hadn't thrown a pitch in over a year but Hendriks and the Dawgs are confident in his abilities to contribute to the team's success.

"His mentality is great, he's a positive guy, he's going go out there and do his thing," he says. "He'll be sharp his next time out, we all have confidence in him for sure.

The Dawgs will wrap up their five game home stand tonight against the Edmonton Prospects with a chance to go 4-1 in those five games. First pitch at Seaman Stadium is 7:05.
