Crews respond to barn fire near Okotoks

Fire personnel responded to a barn fire northwest of Okotoks this afternoon (March 22.)

The fire broke near Bar None Ranches just off of Highway 549.

A barn was burned to the ground as a result, though crews from the Okotoks and Foothills County fire departments have been able to prevent it from spreading.

Crews remain on scene as the wreckage continues to smolder, with smoke still rising from the burned building.

Peace officers are directing traffic, with the lane closest to the barn being closed in order to accommodate several emergency vehicles.
